The Race officer brought the start time forward to nine o’clock to ensure both of the races on the last day were completed.

Unfortunately on day three of the Lugano Europa cup the Southerly wind never arrived.

The second days racing at Lugano was once again a long one, with the Southerly wind not settling until three PM. However the race officer’s team are hoping for an earlier start tomorrow.

The first day of racing for nearly 200 boats at Lake Lugano was scheduled for 1pm unfortunately no one told the wind, which finally arrived from the South at 3pm.

For the last day of the Hyeres Europa Cup Regatta all weather-forecast sites were predicting strong winds, and so happened to be.

During the second racing day in Hyeres a breeze of 10-14 knots expected the competitors increasing later to 15-16 knots. Again ideal sailing conditions so two races were run for all fleets.

Despite the earlier than usual date for the first Europa Cup regatta of the year, a very large, record breaking, number of competitors showed up at registration: 138 L4.7, 278 radial and 100 stand
