About Amstelmeer
The Dutch town of Amstelmeer sits on the banks of Lake Amstel in northern Holland. The area was originally open to the sea but become a lake in the 1920s with the contruction of the Amstel Dike to the north and the Wieringermeerpolder to the southeast.
