Puck, Poland:

For the first time, the organisers of the annual Europa Cup in Puck, Poland, also welcomed Masters sailors for a Polish Euro Masters regatta. 10 sailor took up the offer and enjoyed 8 races.

In the Laser Standard fleet, a clear win for Polish sailor Maciej Kaczorowski wo, after winning the last 3 races in a row, took the regatta win with 8 points. Second and third place went to Bart Meynendonckx from Belgium with 11 points and Maciej Bardan (POL) with 14 points.

In the Laser Radial fleet, Dutch Ruud van Hal dominated throughout, winning 6 out of 8 races and taking the regatta win with 6 points! With 12 points, Robert Wolniewicz (POL) came in second place, followed by Dariusz Lubak (POL) in third place on 13 points.

Sailors were having a fantastic time on and off the water at the Swedish Masters regatta in Limhamm.
82 Standard sailor were welcomed along 9 Radial sailors.

In the Radial fleet, Swedish ladies Agneta Jonsson and Yvonne Malmsten did the host country proud: Jonsson came first overall with 5 points, having scored three bullets over the 5 races, while Malmsten finished in second place with 7 points. Third place went to Martin van Offen with 10 points.

In the Standard fleet, Swede Niklas Eder took the overall win with 9 points, followed by fellow country men Stefan Nordström in second place with 18 points and Marcus Westerlind in third place with 20 points.

Nauvo, Finland:

Over 40 Finnish and Swedish met in Nauvo for the Finnish Euro Masters regatta, which this year teamed up with the Open Finnish Masters Championship. Sailors were blessed with good winds up to about 8 m/s on both days of the regatta
In the Standard class, Finnish Master Henrik Eklund had a fantastic regatta with four race wins in a row. After six races, he took the first place with 8 points. In second place came Finnish Grand Master Kim Weber with 15 points , followed in third place by Toumas Tenkanen with 20 points.
In the 7 strong Laser Radial class, Finnish Master Johanna Gustaffson delivered a great performance with four race wins, one 2nd place and one 4th place. She finished the regatta in first place on only 6 points. Second place went to Finnish Great Grand Master Bengt Enoksson with 16 points and third place wen to Finnish Grand Master Pille Lundström with 17 points.


Grosse Brombachsee, Germany:

Over 100 Masters sailors gathered by the Grosse Brombachsee for the German Euro Masters regatta. The regatta was blessed with mostly sunny weather, however the wind was very light, 3 to 4 knots on Friday, 2 to 3 knots on Saturday and unfortunately no wind on Sunday.
In the Laser Standard category, German Apprentice sailor Carsten Kemmling had a great regatta with 3 race wins and two 3rd places and so took the regatta win with 6 points. Following closely was German Grand Master Wolfgang Gerz who consistently scored in the top 5 and finsihed the regatta in second place with 8 points. Third place went to German Apprentice Andreas Willim with 18 points.
In the Laser Radial fleet, Matthias Brühl was able to add another victory to his so far impressive series score. The German Apprentice sailor claimed the regatta win with 5 points after scoring a 2nd place, followed by three bullets, and finally a 3rd place. Second and third place when to German Master sailors Michael Graf on 12 points and Dietmar Engelke on 16 points.


Breitenbrunn, Austria:

Competitors at the Austrian Euro Masters regatta were greeted by sunny weather and light winds from 3 to 6 knots at the Neusiedlersee.
In the Laser Standard category, local Apprentice sailor Martin Lehner dominated the 25 strong fleet with 6 out of seven wins and finishing the regatta with an 11 point lead over the remaining fleet. Second place went to fellow Austrian Christoph Marsano (Apprentice) with 17 points. German Grand Master Wolfgang Gerz finished in third place with 19 points, which takes him to the top of the current overall ranking in the Grand Master category.
In the Laser Radial fleet, German Grand Master Wolf-Peter Niessen delivered a fantastic performance with 5 wins and 2 second places, finishing the regatta on 7 points. His victory means he is currently the leader in the Grand Masters category in the overall series. Niessen was joined on the podium by Dutch Master Martin van Olffen on 19 points and Great Grand Master Frans van den Eeckhout on 17 points, also from the Netherlands.

Monnickendam, Netherlands:

85 competitors took part in the Dutch Euro Masters Regatta in Monnickendam in winds ranging up to 5bf. Seven races were sailed across both fleets.
In the Laser Standard fleet, the Dutch Apprentice Master Dirk Japp Kooistra took the top spot with 16 points, closely followed by fellow countrymen Martin Koning in second place on 18 points and Lennart Cnossen in third place, also on 18 points.
In the Laser Radial fleet, Dutch Apprentice Master Peerke Kortekaas started the regatta on a high, coming second in his first race, followed by 3 bullets and so dominating the leaderboard. But then German Apprentice Master Matthias Bruehl, who had consistently high scores throughout the regatta, won the last two races of the regatta and was able to push past Kortekaas into first place, claiming the regatta win with 14 points. Koretkaas, after two 9th places in the last races, finished the regatta in second place on 23 points, followed by Dutch Great Grand Master Johan Stam in third place on 26 points.


Antwerp, Belgium:

The Laser Euro Masters regatta ran over 2 days with sunny periods and winds ranging from 4 to 5 bft. The Laser Standard fleet, made up of 28 competitors from Belgium and the Netherlands as well as Germany, France, Spain, Great Britian and USA, completed 8 races. Apprentice Master Peerke Kortekaas from the Netherlands claimed the regatta win on 20 points. In second place, also on 20 points, came Dutch Master Cesar Sierhuis, while Apprentice Master Michel Majon from Spain finished in third place on 22 points.
The Laser Radial fleet, made up of 17 competitors, was dominated by the Netherlands. Great Grand Master Johan Stam (NED) came in first place with 11 points after winning the last four races back to back. Master Martin van Olffen (NED) came in second place on 17 points, followed by Grand Master Henk Wittenberg (NED) in third place on 27 points.


Finale Ligure, Italy:

Reports:

The Italian Euro Masters regatta in Finale Ligure attracted 45 sailors from Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Switzerland.
Local sailor Fausto Vassallo delivered the star performance in the Laser Standard rig, winning all six races and and so finishing the regatta on the lowest possible score of 5 after 1 discard. He was followed in second place by fellow Italian Andrea Cosentino who only once scored outside the top three, finishing the regatta on 13 points. Third place was taken by Swiss sailor Mauro Lentini on 16 points.
The Laser Radial fleet saw Italian Alberto de Paoli Ambrosi win the first three races back to back and after a second, (discarded) fifth and third place he claimed the regatta win on 8 points. Italian Piero Pertici from Club del Mare came in second place on 13 points, while Hugues Garrivier from France finished third on 17 points. Swiss sailor Elaine della Giacoma raced in the Laser 4.7 rig within the Laser Radial fleet and finished in seventh place.

The first regatta of the year attracted 72 sailors from Belgium, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Monaco, Great Britain, Spain, Norway and the Netherlands.
In the Laser Standard fleet, Bart Meynendonckx from Belgium claimed the regatta win with 4 points, just 1 point ahead of Andrea Marras from Italy. Local sailor Denis Simeoni took third place with 7 points.
The Laser Radial fleet was won by Suiss Tomaso Ambrosi after winning the first and third race and ending the regatta on 2 points. He was joined on the podium by Jacky Nebrel from France who had won the second race and finished the regatta on 3 points. Third place went to Georges During from Marseille with 6 points.
