More than 560 sailors entered the first Europa Cup regatta of the year in Torbole, Italy. The first races were scheduled to start at 1.00pm. Beautiful sunshine cheered us all up, but the usual south wind took some time to get established and got up to around 5 to 10 knots with considerable swings. The three 4.7 groups managed to sail one race only, while, on the other course, the two standard and three radial fleets completed two races. The standard fleet, after the first day, is lead by Schweurdt Frithjof, GER, the radial by Giovanni Coccoluto, ITA, and the 4.7 by Zelko Zan Luka, SLO, Gregorin Zeno, ITA and Sonnema Wouter, NED. Fingers cross for some more stable conditions tomorrow. Results can be found on the Italian Laser Class web-site.
