Table 2 shows how many foreign competitors participated in each Europa Cup event and what proportion this represent out of the total number of participants.

In the overall series evaluation, as stated in the 2010 Notice of Race, to be in group A (FRA, ITA and GER) or B (the previous + SUI, NED, AUT and CRO) a Europa Cup event need to have large number of participants and high rate of international participation.

From the above tables it can be seen clearly, that there is a steady increase in the participation numbers overall, and for both the L4.7 and the Radial rigs. On the other hand, the Standard rig participation data has been stationary for a while, but this is to be expected as most standard sailors are stepping up to the World Cup series, winding down their international participation or leaving the class all together.

The main goal of the Europa Cup series is to increase participation and international exposure of the sailors beyond the national level. Also, to help them gradually make progress towards the continental and/or world championships. It is a vehicle to put their own performance into international perspective, and give them realistic goals, through the overall series results, in order to improve and get better.

Overall, in light of the above goals and figures, it is fair to say that the Europa Cup series is a continuous success story.
