After Sail for Gold in Weymouth last week, which was the seventh and last event of the 2009-2010 World Cup circuit, the overall winners in all classes were tallied. In the Laser Standard Javier Hernandez ESP had Gold wrapped up before Weymouth, Nick Thompson GBR defended Silver but Michael Leigh CAN used a third-place regatta finish in the Olympia venue to jump to third overall. With a total participation of 353 sailors in all seven events combined, the Laser Standard was by far the largest and probably toughest of all the Olympic classes. Winning Weymouth did the trick for Marit Bouwmeester NED in the Laser Radial who took the top spot ahead of Veronika Fenclova CZE and Paige Railey USA who already had the podium places before Sail for Gold. A total of 189 female Radial sailors competed in the seven events. The World Cup site with all the rankings.
