Sun and a moderate seabreeze around 12kn prevailed yesterday during the first races of the Olympic Classes Worldcup Final in Marseille FRA. The participation however is disappointing in half of the events with less than 10 boats in the Lasers, and very small fleets in the Finns, 49ers or 49ersFX that had their full-house Europeans two weeks ago.
In the 470 men, Xamar/Rodriguez ESP won both races of the day. Belcher/Ryan AUS and Ferrari/Calabro ITA follow 3 points behind.
In the 470 women , Frederike Löwe/Anna Markfort GER are on first with two 3rd race ranks. Mills/McIntyre GBR, Oster/Winkel GER and Cornudella/Lopez ESP follow 4 points back tied on 2nd.
In the RS:X windsurfers , Mattia Camboni ITA has taken the lead one point ahead of Angel Granda ESP. Pierre Le Coq FRA and Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI follow tied on 3rd and 4th.
Megumi Iseda ESP is first in the RS:X women ahead of Flavia Tartaglini ITA and Lilian De Geus NED.
Ryan Lo SGP in the Lasers Standard and Carolina lbano ITA in the Radials lead in the very small Laser fleets.
In the Finns, Andy Maloney NZL is first ahead of Josh Junior NZL and Jake Lilley AUS.
First in the Nacra 17 are Billy Besson/Marie Riou FRA with two bullets followed by John Gimson/Anna Burnet GBR and Vittorio Bissaro/Maelle Frascari ITA.
Fischer/Jauvin FRA are on rank 1 in the 49ers in front of Alonso/Alonso ESP and Fantela/Fantela CRO. Sébastien Schneiter/Lucien Cujean SUI follow on rank 10.
In the 49ersFX , Laura Schöfegger/Anna Boustani AUT and Julie Bossard/Aude Compan FRA share the lead.
Nico Parlier FRA won 3 of the 4 races in the Open Kiteboarders.
