The Perth International Regatta - dress rehearsal for next year's ISAF Olympic Class Werld Championship and nation qualifier for the 2012 Olympics - began yesterday with two races for the Lasers Standard, Lasers Radial and Finns. While the Lasers Standard sailed their races in the morning in moderate and unconstant winds, the Radials and Finns had the typical afternoon seabreeze blowing with 20 kn.
Leader of the Lasers Standard is Tonci Sipanovic CRO followed by Pavlos Kontides CYP and Andrew Murdoch NZL with the same number of points.
In the Open Lasers Radial, Matthew Wearn AUS is on the first place with two bullets, followed by Tristan Brown AUS and the first woman Tuula Tenkanen FIN. 4th overall and second-best woman is Nathalie Brugger SUI.
In the Finns, Jonathan Lobert FRA has taken the lead with two bullets. Ben Ainslie GBR is 'only' on the 7th place in his Finn comeback race.
