Paul Goodison GBR is the new Laser World Champion ! After the Olympic Gold Medal and five European titles, the British athlete successfully terminated the Worlds off Halifax CAN, keeping Mike Bullot NZL, 2nd, and Nick Thompson GBR 3rd under control. The day wins went to Julio Alsogaray ARG and Adonis Bougiouris GRE. Inspite of the predominant fresh winds, the defending champion Tom Slingsby AUS remained on the 17th place. Two early starts and some mediocre races made a better ranking in the Gold-Fleet impossible.
