The Laser European Masters were kicked off yesterday with two races held in a moderate 8 to 14kn seabreeze with the fleet split as usual in age groups.
In the Lasers Radial (Masters, Great Grand Masters, Legends), Ian Jones GBR is leading ahead of Monica Azon ESP and François Claeijs NED. In a second Radial group (Apprentices and Grand Masters), Jon Emmett GBR is first ahead of Alan Clark CAN and Michiel Pals NED. In the Lasers Standard, Jordi Capella ESP won both races in the 'younger' group (Apprentices, Masters) with Alessandro Sartorelli ITA and Ray Davies CAN as first persuers. In the second group (Grand Masters and Great Grand Masters), Andrew Roy CAN, Ari Barshi DOM and Carlos Martinez ESP are on top at equal points.
