Yesterday, the Lasers Radial could terminate their Medal Race, the Race of the Standards had to be abandoned in a vanishing wind. Finishing 2nd, Sari Multala FIN defended her lead clearly winning the World Cup event on the Olympic course of Weymouth followed by Sarah Steyaert FRA, winner of the Medal Race and herewith overtaking Marit Bouwmeester NED. In the overall ranking of the Radial World Cup 2009, the victory of Anna Tunnicliffe USA was firm already before the last event. In the final ranking of the Lasers Standard, the clear win of Tom Slingsby AUS in the Sail for Gold Regatta was firm already the day before. After the abandoned Medal Race, Pavlos Kontides CYP, ISAF-Youth Sailing World Champion 2008, and Andreas Geritzer AUT, Olympic Silver 2000, remain on the 2nd and 3rd place.
