Laser - Olympic Worldcup - Palma ESP - Light winds on day 1

The races of the Olympic World Cup in Palma started yesterday in lighter conditions than expected. While the Standards, split in two fleets, could finish both their races, the second race of the Radials was cancelled due two 2 minutes overtime to the time limit. In 6-8 kn, those guys who did well in the preparation races in Split and Barcelona performed well again yesterday: Tonci Stipanovic CRO took the lead in the 124-boat Standard-Fleet followed by Maksim Semerkhanov RUS and Javier Hernandez ESP. A new generation is moving to the top in the Radial-Fleet: Marketa Audyova CZE, silvermedallist at last years ISAF-Youth Worlds took the lead while Patricia Coro ESP, former Optimist European Champion, finished second followed by Tina Mihelic CRO.
