The Laser fleets concluded their Qualifications with two races yesterday, and today, the Medal Races are on the program.
Francesco Marrai ITA has the door wide open for the most important success in his career, as with his 13 points' lead, he only needs an 8th place in the Medal Race for victory. The fight for Silver and Bronze will be close as Tonci Stipanovic CRO on 2nd is only 3 points ahead of Tom Burton AUS and Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA at equal points. 11 points behind the Silver Medal, even Robert Scheidt BRA and Charlie Buckingham USA can hope for a Medal. The situation in the Lasers Radial has become tight as Gintare Volungeviciute-Scheidt LTU lost much of her advantage yesterday, and Evi Van Acker BEL and Paige Railey USA are only 2, respectively 3 points back. Tuula Tenkanen FIN on 4th with a 17 points deficit has only a theoretical chance for a Medal.
