Laser - Olympic Test Event - Rio De Janeiro BRA - Day 5

The two Laser fleets sailed one race each on the Atlantic race area off Copacabana in a 10 kn breeze yesterday. The day's winners were Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA in the Standards and Josefin Olsson SWE in the Radials.
Francesco Marrai ITA is still on the first position in the Lasers Standard with a 2nd place yesterday, extending his overall lead on 13 points. Lee Parkhill CAN and Robert Scheidt BRA are at equal points on the ranks 2 and 3, closely followed by Tom Burton AUS, Tonci Stipanovic CRO and Nick Thompson GBR on the positions 4 to 6.
Still first in the Radials is Gintare Volungeviciute-Scheidt LTU, but Paige Railey USA reduced her backlog on 3 points. Evi Van Acker BEL, advanced on rank 3, appearing for the first time on a podium place, and other favorites too are coming strongly from behind: Alison Young GBR is now 4th and Marit Bouwmeester NED progressed on rank 6.
