Laser - Olympic Test Event - Rio de Janeiro BRA - Day 2

The Laser fleets sailed again two races each on the second day of the Rio Test Event.
Men of the day in the Lasers Standard was Tonci Stipanovic CRO finishing on the ranks 1 and 2 and moving up on top of the interim's rankings with a 6 points advance on Francesco Marrai ITA. Nick Thompson GBR on rank 3 is already 17 points behind, tied with the 4th Lee Parkhill CAN 8 places up ! The leaders of day one had a disaster day: Pavlos Kontides CYP, ranks 16 and UFD, descended on rank 7, and Robert Scheidt BRA, ranks 20 and 26 down on the 9th place overall.
Some consolation however for the multiple World Champion and key favorite in the familiy, as his wife Gintare Scheidt LTU advanced on rank 1 in the Lasers Radial with a race win. Paige Railey USA moved on rank 2 despite of a premature start. Veronika Kozelska CZE descended on rank 3. Bad day for yesterday's leader Marit Bouwmeester NED as well with the day ranks 10 and 21 dropping on the 4th position.
