Laser - Masters World Championship 2010 - Hayling Island GBR - Too much to race

Gusty winds to 40 knots and waves breaking across the bar in the morning forced the cancellation of racing yesterday at the Laser Masters World Championships off Hayling Island Sailing Club GBR, which attracted 350 sailors between 35 and 84 years of age. Most of them appreciated the day off to attend the Southampton Boat Show, rest their weary bones, ice down cramped muscles or pop “the other blue pill” (a pain killer) like John Bertrand USA, who makes light of it in his blog. Will it get any better today? Less maybe, but not necessarily better. The RC will make the call. The class leaders: Adonis Bougiouris GRE (Standard Apprentice) Arnoud Hummel NED (Standard Master), Peter Vesella USA (Standard Grand Master), Scott Leigh NZL (Radial App.), Steve Cockerill GBR (Radial M), Lyndall Patterson AUS (Radial GM) and Dave Schmidt NZL Radial GGM). The report and the standings.
