Light winds dominated the first day of the Laser European championships on Tallinn Bay EST where two races were sailed. The 148-boat Laser Standard fleet was split into three groups. Milan Vujasinovic CRO and Yuval Botzer ISR won in the Yellow group while Malo Leseigneur FRA and Tom Slingsby AUS won the Blue groups races. In the Red fleet, which struggled with three general recalls and 12 athletes were black flagged in Race 2. Rutger Schaardenburg NED steered clear of trouble, won both races and took the overall lead with 2 points in ahead of Goodison (4 pts.) and Slingsby (5 pts.).
In the 88-boat Laser Radial fleet, the top spot belongs to Tina Mihelic CRO (4 pts.), who sailed consistently and posted a third and a first in her groups two races. She is followed by Charlotte Dobson GBR (9 pts.) and Tuula Tenkanen FIN (11 pts.). Qualification races until Wednesday, final races on Thursday and Friday. The daily report and the video.
