Once again the so-called “wind factory” has been on strike, leaving the 475 athletes without wind for the second day in a row. The Europa Cup Laser Class gets at its third day with just one day sailing and two races.
Since early in the day the situation on the lake leaves a few hopes, the “Peler”, the wind that blows early in the morning in completely absent and the sky above Torbole is packed with clouds. The knots on the racing course are just three.
The participants waits for the Ora, the wind form south, to blow on the lake but what you see on the surface is just a late Peler or the result of the storms that are hitting the mountains around Torbole.
At 1 pm the Race Committee decides to call the three fleets on the water in the hope to race at least one race. But at 4 o’clock unfortunately the boats are sent back to shore amongst the disappointment of organizers and athletes. Tomorrow the start is ten 10 o’clock in the hope that Torbole and Lake Garda will not lose their reputation.
