The European Laser Masters Championship drew to a close today with 9 races completed.

It appears that Elena Papazoglou, Kyriacos Karatzis and Socrates Jordanou will possess  the medals of the European Laser Masters Championship. Kyriacos leads in the overall classification with three penalty points difference from the Dominican athlete Ari Barshi who left the Argentinean athlete Palombo behind with some amazing races. The German athlete Gerz remained in the third place, who was threatened by Gal Klarfeld with a difference of two penalty points.  Jordanou climbed up to the second place with steady races and we hope that he will climb up a couple of places mainly because there are only a few penalty points that separate him from the 6th place.  Karatzis is also leading in his category with Jordanou in the third place.

In the Grand Masters Category Gerz remains in the first place with the British athletes Campion and Nicholson falling in the third and fourth place respectively.  The French athlete Regis climbed a lot of places and reached the second place of the Grand Masters Category.

In the Masters Category we have a new sailor in this very exciting race. After the amazing day the Dominican Ari Barshi had, he left behind him  Palombo in the second place and Vivald from Italy in the third place.

In the Grand Masters Category the British athlete Kinnear remains in the first place with Niessen falling six places and Speed rising to the second place as well as the British athlete Rawet in the third place. Four athletes following, who could have threatened Speed and Rawet.

In the Laser Radial Category we have once again a change in the overall classification in which the Brazilian Ramos is leading with Jones and Cage following.
Ramos is also leading in the Masters category with the British athlete Cage and Van Olffen following very near.

In the Grand Masters we have three British athletes who will most probably start a great naval battle for the first place. There is a difference of nine penalty points between Reay, Prindham and Whipp.

Elena Papazoglou continues her good performances in the races despite the difficult weather conditions and the strong winds. The strong winds were the main cause for all the ups and downs in the positions. The British athlete Hotchin lost the second place which she stole from the Finnish athlete Gustafsson.

We did not face any problems during yesterday’s race and the wind helped enough in order to conduct the fast races.
