The day started with a beautiful sunshine, so all were looking forward some decent see breeze to come later on. The first surprise came at the visit of the race office when it turned out that the Race Committee decided last evening at 9.00pm to abandon the first race of day 2 (actually the first race of the regatta), for all fleets, without too much explanation. As the wind was not coming as expected, writing a large number of protests kept the competitors busy.
The signal to go afloat came as a surprise as the wind was around 3-4 knots maximum. The Race Committee was again, unfortunately, not on the top of the game, as they decided to go ahead with the first race of the day. Given that there was also a current of around 1 knot, this made racing, well sort of interesting. Courses needed to be shortened for all fleets so that the race could be completed. Many of the competitors then decided to call the day off at that point, even though officially the competitors were kept more than an hour still afloat, expecting conditions to improve. When filing this report no results are available, as it is still unsure, pending on the protests, how many races have actually been completed.
